Episode 13: The Journey of Andrew Stotz, Ph.D., CFA
On this episode of KD’s Journey, I interview Andrew Stotz and get a deeper understanding of his journey.
Andrew lost nearly everything in 1998 but clawed his way back through hard work and smart decisions. Currently, Andrew is the Co-Founder and CEO of A. Stotz Investment Research, Co-Founder and Finance Director of CoffeeWORKS, and Host of the Podcast, My Worst Investment Ever.
Let’s start with Andrew’s top three takeaways that he has learned throughout his journey:
“If you surrender to the wind, you can ride it.”
Taking on unnecessary risk can lead to loss
The power of discussing your biggest mistakes, can not only allow you to learn from them but it free’s you from the weight of the loss too
Andrew takes us through his battles of addiction at a young age, the dedication of his parents through this tough time, and helping to better understand that communicating your internal struggles can be imperative to your mental, physical, and emotional health.
Additionally, he shares how his journey took a turn after attending college at California State University - Long Beach which landed him exploring a new way of life in Bangkok, Thailand.
As an analyst by trade and at heart, Andrew is a true example of how beautiful life can be once you overcome your demons and approach life with a “Never Give Up” attitude.
